The Naming
This liminal space is not lost on me. The only thing new is the naming of the pain. It is a place of contraction and expanse— the tension between the Soul and the ego within. A confusing, uncomfortable place where the truth lives and speaks.
Misery and freedom.
The truth sends me back to the past, where illusion lies, where I thought I belonged. The mind is playing tricks, but I can see through this, transcending between conscious thought and the unconscious shadow self.
Ego screams. The Soul wants to tell the truth. Go wider. Go longer into fear and the unknown.
Be silent; the mystery aligns for our healing. Sacrificing authenticity for perfection feels weak. Trapped in the delusion of perfection, the Soul cannot speak.
Poet’s Statement
Inspired by the “descent to soul,” this piece reflects the contraction and expanse felt when standing in liminal space. It speaks to the courage required to bypass the mind’s illusions and listen to the silent alignment of the mystery. It is a personal map of the journey from the ego’s delusions to the broader, longer path of the unknown.
Author Bio
Stephen Chew is a seeker and writer exploring the intersections of shadow work, liminality, and the emergence of the authentic self. Their work focuses on the dialogue between the ego and the soul, seeking to capture the “naming” of the truths found in the depths of the inner wilderness.

I quote “The mind is playing tricks, but I can see through this, transcending between conscious thought and the unconscious shadow self.”
Mind plays the tricks because the moment we come to know the truth, the mind dies- thought stops for eternity. So the moment we move towards unknown, the truth it starts shaking and creates illusions. It is master of creating illusions so we need to move towards truth so silently that even the mind could not know!
Meditation is the door to truth - this I am saying from my own experiences.
When I started practising awareness meditation during brushing my teeth in the morning, it was such silent act that my mind could not notice and so it helped me in discovering reality or truth or light within on it’s own!
Anyone who is ready to experiment in their life and keep learning from their experiences is sure going to discover truth within, one fine day. Just we need to sincerely keep our focus on everyday without looking at our efforts in the past. What we are going to be gifted is so abundant that our efforts are going to be proved infinitesimal only.
My posts are from my experience so they may help you to take one more step when you get struck.
